Schools Trips. An Unforgettable Learning Experience

TreeTopJuniorCrossings

“Where are my shoes? I can’t find my backpack!”

The nights are drawing in slowly, there is a crisp tingle in the autumn air and the kids are back to school. It’s time to snap back into the school routine – less of the tasty treats and more of the times tables. But lest we forget we need a good mix of fun and learning!

New experiences are flawless learning curves for kids. Allowing them to let their imagination run wild and learn through pushing the boundaries are all in a days trip to Go Ape!

We offer pupils the perfect place to get out of the classroom and up into the canopy! With a variety of national curriculum based educational resources for the classroom and the chance to encourage the little monkeys to be adventurous Go Ape is the perfect school trip.

No Weekend Plans? Combine A Camping Trip With Go Ape

Camping

You may have come to the conclusion that us Go Ape folk are rather fond of the great outdoors – and you’d be right. For us, nothing beats getting some fresh air in our lungs and going on an outdoor adventure.

If you’re slouched at home on the sofa, scratching your scalp and wondering what an earth to do this weekend, why not embrace the last weeks of the summer holidays by organising a combined camping and Go Ape trip?

Yep, that’s right kids. The dawn of the new school year is fast approaching (sorry to remind you), so it’s only right you end the holiday on a high. And by high, we really do mean high…

A camping trip coupled with a Go Ape Tree Top adventure = a match made in heaven, we think. And lucky enough, there are Go Ape’s dotted across the UK, so you really are spoilt for choice.

All our Go Apes are located in beautiful areas that are perfect for a spot of camping. Perhaps a couple of nights in a Forest of Dean campsite tickles your fancy? Or what about pitching-up near Haldon Forest Park in Exeter?

There’s something special about ditching the phones, TVs and tablets and spending some quality time with friends and family. At Go Ape, you’ll spend the day tackling tree-top obstacles, whether it’s swinging your way across the stirrups or balancing on the high ropes. Or, you may want to round-up the tribe for a forest tour on a bunch of Segways – the choice is yours.

After all the adventure, you can look forward to gathering round a campfire, cooking some hearty grub and relaxing. Perfect.

So, what are you waiting for? Dig out your tent, dust off your gear, go camping and Go Ape!

A Magnificent Man In His Flying Machine

Gorilla in the Gyrocopter

Helicopter – been there. Hot air balloon – done that. Boeing737 – got the tee shirt! But there were still aeronautical ‘firsts’ to be had and, thanks to the generosity of Capt. Martin Temple and his gyrocopter, our gorilla took off into the blue yet again. The small matter of getting from Dalby to the air strip was solved by more pedalling, this time 25 miles up very steep hills. Once airborne and travelling at 100mph, it must have been downhill all the way for the cyclists who not only kept up but were at the landing site to greet our hairy friend 88 miles later! And so it was that Seb & Craig collected the banana and took it on to Sherwood in preparation for its most extraordinary journey yet.

Bridge(s) Over The River…. Tyne

When it comes to bridges Newcastle isn’t in short supply. It’s not just the city’s Metro, Swing and Millennium that are famous. Their replicas on Site 4 at GoApe Matfen are worth a visit. The journey began however on Site 2 with our very own aerial circus stunt girl Natalie performing some impressive and very bendy moves with a banana! Unfortunately, whilst the fruit was swinging from the trees our gorilla was taken hostage by the Turboventure gang and subjected to a terrifying sortie in an armoured truck. Finally managing to escape the hairy beast set off for the real bridges with banana in tow, crossing them all on train, foot and super-high stilts. It was then the turn of the cyclists. 90 miles over the Moors was a doddle after pushing their way through the throngs of the Great North Run and Jon, Adam and Sam were very grateful for the refuelling reception that awaited them at Dalby before heading home over the hills.

Big Thanks to Turboventures and Soul Elevation for supporting The Big Banana Relay.
