Happy birthday, Go Ape Alice Holt and Bedgebury

Happy birthday alice holt and bedgebury

In case you haven’t heard – two of our Go Ape locations are celebrating their 10th birthdays this weekend. Go Ape Alice Holt and Bedgebury Pinetum will both mark their 10th anniversaries on Friday 21st July 2017.

The Tribes will be celebrating their big days with balloons, bunting, party bags and free cake. They even ran a giveaway to win a 10th birthday party for one lucky Tarzan who shares their birth year. If you didn’t get a chance to enter the competition, you have until midnight tonight tomorrow to enter.

A decade of adventure takes a lot of effort to achieve, and during that time there were lots of other accomplishments to celebrate too. Here are some of our favourite moments in the history of Go Ape Alice Holt and Bedgebury Pinetum:

1) Go Ape Bedgebury Pinetum is located inside the largest collection of conifers in the world

2) Our Alice Holt location has helped create film history – providing the landscape for the opening battle from Gladiator, scenes from Skyfall, Captain America and Avengers: Age of Ultron

3) One of Bedgebury’s instructors, Becky Jordan, is a silver medalist in mountain biking

4) Five of the tribe members from Alice Holt completed a 1000 ft skydive for Teenage Cancer Trust

5) Both Go Ape Bedgebury and Alice Holt have welcomed quite a few celebrities over the years, including the beautiful Kate Winslet and the talented Daniel Radcliffe

There is still time to book onto the course and enjoy the birthday celebrations at Go Ape Alice Holt or Bedgebury. Book your day out with us before the big day on the 21.07.2017 and you can receive 10% off your adventure:

Happy birthday Go Ape Buxton

happy birthday buxton

Hip, hip hooray for Buxton’s big day. Our Derbyshire gem, just west of the Peak District National Park just celebrated its 10th birthday.

If you visited our Buxton adventure today, on the 14th July, you may have noticed some goings on around the cabin. Despite a spot of rain, the team at Buxton threw a tree-mendous birthday party to mark the anniversary of their launch in 2007.

Aside from the free cake, the Buxton Tribe have a lot of accomplishments to celebrate from the past 10 years. Here are 5 of our favourite accolades about Go Ape Buxton:

1) It is one of our highest courses, standing proudly on the edge of a valley

2) It is right next door to a natural landmark – the two-million-year-old cave Poole’s Cavern

3) One of their instructors is an IronMan (of the triathlon variety not the superhero)

4) It is an award-winning site, nabbing a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence and a Visit Peak District award

5) The site manager, Liam, is a master of dad jokes

If you missed out on the fun of the day, there is still time to book onto the course and enjoy the adventure with the Buxton Tribe. With summer holidays just around the corner, there’s never been a better time to get outside and enjoy some tree-time with family and friends. You can book onto the classic Tree Top Adventure at Buxton, right here.

Happy birthday Aberfoyle!

Happy birthday Go Ape Aberfoyle

Happy birthday to you,

Happy birthday to you,

Happy birthday to Aberfoyle,

Happy birthday to you!

Our breathtaking Go Ape location in Stirlingshire celebrated it’s 10th birthday this weekend. If you visited Aberfoyle on Sunday 11th June, you may have been greeted with balloons, buntings and a slice of cake (or you may have even entered our competition to celebrate your 10th birthday with us).

A lot has changed over the decade of adventure at Aberfoyle, but there are some things that will always remain a proud part of our history. Here are 5 fun facts you may not know about Go Ape Aberfoyle:

1) It was our first ever Scottish site. Now you can find 3 of our scenic locations in Scotland.

2) It’s home to the longest zip wire in Go Ape history, at a staggering 426 metres.

3) In March 2017, Go Ape Aberfoyle made it to the finals of the Scottish Thistle Awards – Scottish tourism’s equivalent of the Oscars.

4) It is home to one of our rare dual courses, where you can choose your fate on one of two routes (moderate or extreme).

5) In 2014, we welcomed our first and only ever Go Ape Tree Top Wedding. They said ‘I do’ then took a leap of faith off the Tarzan swing.

Here are some photos from the day, just look at that cake!
