Keeping up with…Go Ape!

Students Offers

Now, as you probably know, the Go Ape tribe are all about the great outdoors. We like to spend as much time as possible outside, away from the confines of walls and ceilings, totally surrounded by nature.

Those who work on our courses are lucky to be outside mostly all day long, while our office-based BananaHQ tribe find any excuse to stretch their legs in the great outdoors, swinging by our courses on a regular basis.

In the past, we’ve preached about disconnecting from tech, and reconnecting with the wonderful, natural world around us. But at the same time, we know how important tech is for keeping in touch with family and friends, and staying up-to-date with all that’s going on in the world. We don’t think tech is the devil, we just think it’s important to take breaks and strike a healthy balance!

Besides, if we didn’t have tech, just how would our lovely customers keep up with what’s going on in our neck of the woods? We’re a busy bunch, and love sharing our most recent adventures with you – like our brand new course opening at London’s infamous Ally Pally!

Also, our social channels provide a platform for you to share your Go Ape adventures with us! We love seeing pics of your time in the treetops, and vids of you on-board our Forest Segways. And it’s great to read your feedback, too – it lets us know what we’re doing well, and where we can improve!

And the thing is, by sharing your adventures on our social channels, you’re giving us a helping hand at succeeding in our mission – which is, to encourage others to live life more adventurously! When people see pics of others swinging through the trees Tarzan-style, wearing huge smiles, all of a sudden they want to embrace the great outdoors and have a go themselves.

There are many ways to stay up-to-date with all the goings-on at Go Ape, such as:

It’s our Birthday!

15th Birthday

The big 1-5. A year of spots, exams, and unrequited love – usually. But for us, our passion was never going to be a fleeting fancy.

15 years ago, our chief Gorillas fell in love with adventure. Whilst holidaying in France, Tristram and Rebecca Mayhew had an idea that would turn into a 15-year odyssey, creating hundreds of worthwhile careers, and helping nearly seven million of you to live life adventurously.

Happy Birthday, Tris and Becs!

Here are some of Go Ape’s most memorable moments through the years …

Go Ape Wendover even got in on the party and what better way to mark the occasion than with a mastery in wood chip landing site artistry

Happy 10th Birthday to Go Ape Dalby!

Last week marked a week of celebrations for Go Ape as Go Ape Dalby turned 10 years old and took the opportunity to invite 10 year olds down for free and 20% off for adults ….. And yes of course there was a cake!

Microscooters

Scooters. We loved them when we were children, and they’re just as awesome today.

There’s something about whizzing around on two wheels that’s a winning formula for family fun.

And whether it’s zipping around a local beauty spot or whooshing to school, the University of Brighton have found that scooting can boost overall fitness and kickstart an active lifestyle.

And here at Go Ape we are all about encouraging people to enjoy a more adventurous lifestyle – which is why we are offering you the chance to win a whole family of scooters this Easter holiday!

Book your Tribe onto one of our forest adventures between 13th – 26th March and you will be automatically entered in a prize draw to win 4 Micro scooters.

The highest Go Ape sites, do you dare?

Zip Wires at Go Ape Dalby

They say that he who dares, wins …..

And we can testify that as you’re swinging through the trees at one of our Go Ape adventures, letting loose with a Tarzan-esque yell, you’ll feel like a winner, through and through!

Go Ape doesn’t just make a great day out for the average adrenaline junkie.

Go Ape offers a range of fun for all the family, from Segway tours through spectacular forests, blooming with beautiful beech trees, marvellous maples and outstanding oaks, to Tree Top Junior adventures ideal for any little monkeys you might have in your tribe.

However, if it’s adrenaline you fancy then, by golly, that’s what you shall have! In buckets, as a matter of fact! The only question is, do you dare to tackle the highest Go Ape adventures in the UK? And will your tribe be able to keep up? After all, there’s nothing wrong with a little friendly competition… We’re sure even Tarzan would agree!Zip-Trekking-Adventure-Go-Ape-Grizedale-Forest

If you’re up for the challenge of testing our most extreme adventures, we’d first suggest heading over to Go Ape Grizedale, Cumbria, where our site is located right in the heart of the sumptuous scenery of the Lake District. Here you can try 275 metres of zip wires on for size in our Zip Trekking Adventure, a network of seven tandem zip-lines that will have you scraping the tops of the Douglas Firs. It’s a whole other world up there we’re not sure you’ll want to come down! And once you do, we believe you’ll have more of a head for heights than ever before!

Once you’ve had a bit of practice (you didn’t think that was our longest zip wire did you?), you’re ready to get acquainted with our Aberfoyle course, set in the stunning surroundings of Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. Here you will travel a whopping 46 metres above the ground on two of Britain’s longest zip wires hold on to your hats because this 426 metre long trip is quite a ride!

Go Ape Aberfoyle

If testing your balancing skills before flinging yourself off uber-high platforms is more your cup of tea (and if it isn’t, it should be!) then we suggest getting in some practice at our Dalby site in North Yorkshire where our 35 metre high platform is the perfect spot to take in the views of the plunging valley below.

Then, when you’re ready to seriously test your mettle, the only place to be is the sensational Glentress Forest, where a 48 metre high platform is nestled away in the Scottish borders.

In fact, this is the location of our highest zip wire too an awe-inspiring way to get a good look at Scotland!

Finally, once you’ve conquered these sites, it’s time to try out our longest crossing at Crathes Castle, Aberdeenshire 92 metres of traversing the tree-tops whilst surrounded by 240 hectares of formal gardens, woodland walks and rolling Scottish countryside.

So, we ask you again… do you dare?
